Inspiring Quotes for Mental Wellness

I’m going to be very honest with you all – I’m a sucker for quotes, especially those inspiring quotes for mental wellness you see all over Pinterest.

I don’t know what it is, but I get so moved by inspiration. Tears come to my eyes when I see an animal find a happy new life on the The Dodo. I’ve seen the Nike ad “Dream Crazier” roughly 1000 times and it still gives me goosebumps.

I get fired up by watching Goalcast videos of inspiring celebrities. I cry when the heroes win in a Disney movie (or if someone “dies”). And I love, love, love a good meaningful quote.

Why Are Inspiring Quotes Great for Mental Wellness?

Inspiring quotes make us feel less alone. There are few things better for mental health than knowing someone else has succeeded in the exact situation you’re going through.

These quotes speak to our souls and make us believe in hope again. At my lowest darkest times, remembering certain quotes inspired me to keep going. I don’t think I’d be where I am today without their guiding light.

Quotes bring us wisdom in dark times. They help us make sense of a senseless world, inspire us to do better, and urge us to see from a new perspective we hadn’t thought of before.

All of this can be a big boon to your mental health, especially if you’re in a tough place.

MSB’s Favorite Inspiring Quotes for Mental Wellness

Meaning and inspiration are fuel for my soul. It may not be the same for everyone else but I think we can all benefit from a little inspo from time to time.

So today I’m going to take you on a journey through some of my most favorite quotes for mental wellness. These are sayings, ideas, and affirmations that keep me going when time gets tough. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do <3

1.

I keep this quote on my desk to remind me that no matter how broken I feel, there’s a purpose to that pain. Nothing is perfect and if it was, life would be far less interesting.

2.

Everything you ever dreamed of is on the other side of pain. Even if you can only crawl, keep going.

3.

I would repeat this quote to myself about 6 years ago when I was in a very dark place. I was so anxious and depressed all I could do was to take walks in the woods behind my house. Sometimes up to 4 or 5 a day.

As I walked I counted my steps, it was the only thing that brought me a little bit of peace. At that point, I legitimately thought I was going to die from the anxiety. But somehow I knew that I’d be okay if I just kept putting one foot in front of the other.

And now, many years later I’m alive and well into my journey of 1000 miles. All because I told myself I had to start with one step after the other.

4.

Mental Health problems can seem insurmountable. Overwhelming. All consuming. This quote helped me realize that my issues were separate from me. Once I knew that, they had less power over me and I was able to move forward with healing.

5.

Mental Health issues are difficult, exhausting, and downright miserable to deal with sometimes. The power of this quote comes in reminding us that misery is temporary, a fact that easily forgotten in the midst of chaos.

And not only is misery temporary, we can alchemize it into strength and wisdom for later. So hold on, stay tough, and keep going <3
